Greetings all,

Apologies if this blog starts off looking a little rudimentary. I haven’t used WordPress since my days as a music student who genuinely believed people might want to read his opinions on the sounds of the time.

This blog isn’t that.

Though I imagine it’ll attract roughly the same amount of footfall, and that’s completely fine.

Message in a Bottle is, in many ways, me shouting into the void. For comfort. For reflection. For self-improvement. And, if I’m being honest, maybe for the faint hope of connection too because let’s face it, most of us want to be seen in some small way, even if we pretend otherwise.

I’ll start with a little about me, while trying to keep a degree of anonymity intact.

I came into the world in ’91 and since then it’s been a fairly even split between the mundane and the slightly less mundane (I know, I’m really selling this). School came and went, leaving me with some fairly unimpressive results. College followed, twice, after quitting once before eventually making it to university and coming out the other side with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music.

Somewhere in amongst all of that, I played in a couple of bands and collected a handful of memories I’ll always be fond of.

I got married. I started a family. And now, here’s where you find me: just over two years out of a fifteen-year relationship, six of those married. Navigating single life as best I can, learning as I go, and dealing with whatever life feels like throwing my way next.

There’s a lot of ground still to cover and plenty left unsaid, but I’ll leave that for another entry. No need to ramble right out of the gate.
